Ionia Sentinel Standard - 7 Oct 1961
Myrtle Showerman, 83, of Grand Rapids, former resident of Sebewa area, died 
Tuesday morning at Blodgett Memorial hospital after a short illness.

She was a registered nurse and devoted many years to both private and 
institutional nursing.  She was an Army nurse during World War I and was 
stationed at Plattsburg, N.Y.

Miss Showerman had resided in Grand Rapids the past 25 years where she was a 
member of the First Methodist church and the Carl D. Johnson Post No 2, American 
Legion.

She is survived by three sisters, Mrs. Ellen Collier of Sunfield, Mrs. Ruth 
Robbinson of Hastings, and Mrs. Edna Burkle of Woodland.

Service will be held Saturday at 2 pm at Mapes funeral home in Sunfield with 
burial in the family lot at Sebewa cemetery.
