CLARKSVILLE-  The Rev. Tobias E. Shrock, 83, of 76th Street, Clarksville, died 
on Oct. 21 at his residence.

he was born on Sept. 2, 1897 in LaGrange County, Ind., the son of Edward and 
Sarah Troyer Shrock.

He moved with his family to Kansas where he attended school then moved back to 
Indiana and in 1931 moved to Clarksville.

He married Martha Miller. She preceded him in death in 1961.

He was a minister at the Bowne Mennonite Church from 1931 until his retirement 
in 1965.

He was ordained into the ministry in 1931 and was ordained a bishop in 1936.

Along with his ministry, he was also a farmer.

He is survived by his wife, Ellen, three sons, Orie of Minnesota, Oscar of 
Florida and Edward of Clarksville; three daughters, Mrs. Wayne (Mae) Wenger of 
Kentucky, Mrs. Ralph (Mary) Birkey of Virginia and Mrs. Virgil (Martha) Albrecht 
of Vassar, Mich.; one stepson, Melvin Troyer of Kansas; 31 grandchildren and 330 
great-grandchildren.

A daughter, Esther; four brothers; and three sisters preceded him in death.

Funeral services were held on Oct. 23 at the Bowne Mennonite Church with the 
Rev. J.C. Wenger and Lavern Swartz officiating.

Burial was in the Bowne Mennonite Church Cemetery.
