The Ionia Daily Sentinel-Standard, Friday, August 6, 1954


John R. Shumway III, two-month-old son of Mr. and Mrs. John R. Shumway Jr., of 
Three Rivers, died unexpectedly at his parents’ home Thursday afternoon.

Surviving besides the parents are the paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. John 
R. Shumway Sr., of Lake Odessa, and the maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. 
Erias Birman of Lansing.

The body is at the Pickens funeral chapel where funeral services will be held 
Saturday at 3:30 p.m.  Burial will be in Lakeside cemetery.
