The Ionia Daily Sentinel-Standard, Tuesday, March 12, 1940


Lyman Shumway, 71, died at his home in Seattle, Washington the early part of 
this week.  He is a former Ionian, having been a barber here for many years.  
He moved to the west about 40 years ago.

Surviving are one brother, James L. and a sister, Mrs. Ida Alvord, both of 
Detroit.

The ashes will arrive at the Bradley funeral home in the near future and 
interment will be at Highland Park cemetery.
