W. G. SHUMWAY DIED IN G.R. MONDAY --------- Mrs. Edith E. Shumway, 75, a resident of Grand Rapids 22 years, died at her home there Monday after an illness of two weeks. She was the wife of William G. Shumway. Born at Middleport, N.Y., she had lived in Michigan since childhood, residing in the vicinity of St. Johns until her marriage to Mr. Shumway. Except for nine years spent at Jersey, Ark., the family lived at Lake Odessa until they moved to Grand Rapids. Mrs. Shumway was a member of the Royal Neighbors and Order of Eastern Star and belonged to the United Brethren church. Surviving besides the husband are two daughters Mrs. Eva Loomis in Grand Rapids, and Mrs. Charles Hamp in Odessa; a son John Shumway near Hastings; two sisters Mrs. D. J. Brown in Detroit and Mrs. Emma Shaffley at Jackson; 13 grandchildren, three to whom are in the U.S. military service, and 10 great grandchildren. Funeral services were held Thursday afternoon at the home in Grand Rapids and later at the United Brethren church here . Interment was made in Lakeside cemetery.
