The Ionia Sentinel-Standard, Wednesday, December 7, 1955
Ionia relatives received word Tuesday of the death of Mrs. Doris Shumway, 88, 
of Detroit, formerly of Ionia.  Mrs. Shumway died Monday at the home of her 
daughter, Mrs. Louise Hale, where she had resided several years. 

Besides the daughter, she is survived by three grandsons, several great-
grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Daisy Door of Belding and nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held Wednesday in Detroit and burial will be at Highland 
Park cemetery in Ionia at 1 o’clock Thursday.
