Belding Banner-News, 3 Dec 1959

Fred A. Shurte, 79, died Dec. 1 at McLaren Hospital, Flint.  He was born
November 9, 1880 at Palo, Mich., but he was a Belding resident most of his life.
 It was here he practiced plumbing from 1921 until 1955 when he retired.

He was married to Florence Sykes May 29, 1904.  She died December 30, 1945.  He
remarried November 9, 1946 to Mrs. Charles Murray.  She died March 3, 1959. 
Since her death he had resided in Flint.  Surviving are three sons, Allen B.,
Russell S., and Clarence S., all of Flint; one sister, Mrs. Anna Humphrey of
Perry, Mich., four grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, several nieces and
nephews.

The funeral will be held Friday at 2 p.m. at the Fitzjohn Funeral Home, Rev.
Thomas Rebentisch of the Congregational Church officiating.  Burial will be at
River Ridge Cemetery.  Graveside services will be under the auspices of Belding
F.&A.M. 355.
