Born August 24, 1882, in Berlin township, he enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1903, where he served as a cavalry company bugler while on Mexican border patrol in Texas territory, and honorably discharged November 17, 1906, at Fort Sam Houston. Mr. Sible was employed a major portion of his life as a painter and paperhanger, and gained pleasure from regaling listeners with tales of his Mexican border experiences while on patrol. Surviving are two sons, Maurice of St. Clair Shores and Lynn of Lansing; one sister, Flora Alexander, living in Ohio; five grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. The body is at Stone-Kauffman funeral home in Ionia where family and friends may visit Saturday and Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Services directed by John H. Doughty will be at 1 p.m. November 20 with the Rev. William Brower of Lansing officiating. Burial will be in Balcom cemetery.
