Hasting's Reminder - Saturday June 4, 2022

                              GERALD SIFTON

Gerald Sifton, age 98, of Woodland,MI passed away on Sunday, May 29, 2022 Gerald 
was born January 4, 1924 n Trochu, Alberta, Canada to Orville and Norma 
(Whimple) Sifton.

Gerald served our country in the Army Air Corp during WW II where he worked on 
planes, being stationed on Tinian Airbase. This is where the planes that dropped 
the first Atomic Bombs were housed and prepared. On October 12, 1946 he married 
Opal Brady and together they farmed and they raised their family. Gerald 
eventually opened Sifton Repair shop where he worked on farm equipment.

He leaves behind his wife, Opal; son, Randy (Sandy) Sifton along with many 
grandchildren, great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Gerald was preceded in death by his parents; son, Gregory Sifton; daughter-in-
law, Sue; granddaughter, Melissa and many brothers and sisters.

Visitation was scheduled for Thursday, June 2, 2022 at the Woodland United 
Methodist Church with a funeral that followed. Burial took place in Woodland 
Memorial Park following the service.

In lieu of flowers the family would like donations to be given to Spectrum Home 
Health Hospice and Woodland United Methodist Church.
