Harold C. Signs, 79, of Ionia, died Friday, Dec. 3, in Arcadia, Fla.  He was 
born Aug. 24, 1914, in Ionia, the son of Hartwell and Flora Signs.  He was a 
farmer and also retired after 26 years as a corrections officer.  He was 
married to the former Eugenia A. Boltz on Aug. 27, 1937 in Ionia.  She 
survives.

Also surviving is a daughter, Norma Lee Signs-Kennedy-Harkins of Greenville; 
two grandchildren, Greg Kennedy of Grattan and Richelle Harkins of Greenville; 
a sister, Mildred Sutkatis of Lansing, a niece and two nephews.  He was 
preceded in death by a daughter, Carolynn, in 1960.

Cremation has taken place.  A memorial service will be held Wednesday, Dec. 
29, at 2 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Ionia, with the Rev. James G. Bennett 
officiating.  Burial will be in Saranac Cemetery.  A memorial for First 
Baptist Church of Ionia has been established, in care of Marshall funeral 
Home, 420 West Grove, Greenville, which made local arrangements.
