Norris H. Signs, 89, of Saranac passed away Feb. 8, 2012 in Saranac. He was 
born Sept. 2, 1922 in Berlin Twp. the son of Charles and Mary (Riggs) Signs.

Norris was a lifelong veterinarian who practiced in Grand Rapids for more than 
30 years, beginning in the late 1960's. He began his career in large animals, 
but later followed his love for small animals. He retired to become a full-time 
farmer in early 1990. He continued to practice later into his life.

Norris is survived by his daughters, Kimberly and husband David Austin of 
Dimondale, Kelly and husband Robert Tovsky of Virginia and Kitty and husband 
Charlie Holmes of Arizona; sisters, Marcilene McDonald of Ionia and Velma Jean 
(Russell) Hammond of Hastings; sister-in-law, Connie Signs of Hastings; 
grandchildren, Jay, Michael and Jeff Austin, Aaron and Andrew Tovsky and CJ 
Holmes.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Elton Signs and Charles 
Signs; and sister-in-law, Dorothy Signs.

A memorial reception will be held Saturday, Feb. 11, 2012 at the Corner Landing 
Restaurant, 128 W. Grand River, Ionia, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Arrangements by Lake Funeral Home in Saranac. Memorial contributions may be 
made in Norris's name to Heifer International care of the family or funeral
