CORNELIUS S.): THE CARSON CITY GAZETTE, THURSDAY, JANUARY 1, 1947, front page: "Eva Silvernail, Matherton, Died - Funeral services will be held Friday for Mrs. Eva Colia Silvernail, 70, of Matherton, who died at her home Monday night at 12 o'clock, after a long illness. The services will be held from the Matherton Methodist church with Rev. Park Newcombe officiating. Arrangements are in charge of the Burns Funeral Home of Carson City. Mrs. Silvernail was born in Essex township, Clinton county, July 9, 1877, and had spent her entire life in that area. Her husband, Cornelius S. Silvernail, preceded her in death July 24, 1940. Surviving are two sons, Harvey and Rudolph, both of Matherton; two sisters, Mrs. Laura Lorentz, of Afton, and Mrs. Sarah Dick of Lake Odessa; five grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Interment will be made in East Plains cemetery."
