Bennett lib@dogsbark.com May 17, 2010, 7:13 pm Ionia Sentinel Standard SILVERNAIL, HENRY PETER: THE DAILY SENTINEL-STANDARD, IONIA, MICH., DECEMBER 20, 1933: "Mortuary - Henry Silvernail - Funeral services for Henry Silvernail, 66, of Matherton, were conducted Monday by Rev. Floyd N. Drake in the Matherton Methodist Episcopal church. Burial was in the East Plains cemetery. Mr. Silvernail died Friday following a stroke of paralysis, with which he was stricken Saturday, December 9, while cutting wood, and remaining practically unconscious until his death. He was born in North Shade township, Gratiot county. At the age of 31 years, he was united in marriage to Aurilla Bacon, and for the next 35 years, resided in Matherton. His six children, William, Clyde, Ernestine, and Hazel, at home; Mrs. Velma Thomas, of Lansing, and Mrs. Frank Piazza, of Grand Rapids, survive. He also leaves his aged mother, Mrs. Benjamin Taylor, of Matherton, and three brothers and sisters, who are: William, of Ionia; Cornelium, of Matherton; Fred, of Battle Creek; Mrs. Lily Collier, of Lansing; Mrs. Susie Lasarge, of Lakewood, O.; Mrs. Mary Fenn, of Matherton."
