HENRY PETER): THE CARSON CITY GAZETTE, THURSDAY, JUNE 5, 1947, front page: "Matherton Lady Buried Monday - Mrs. Aurilla Silvernail, 66, passed away suddenly, May 31 at the home of her brother, Ernest L. Bacon in Matherton. Born March 19, 1881 in Maple Rapids, she was the daughter of Silas W. and Ida E. Bacon. She was married to Henry P. Silvernail of Matherton in January 1898. He died on December 15, 1933. Surviving are two sons, Wm. E. of Matherton and Clyde of Pewamo and four daughters, Mrs. Velva Thomas of Lansing, Mrs. Gwendolyn DiPiazza of Grand Rapids, Mrs. Ernestine Evans of Matherton and Mrs. Hazel Nemeth of Lansing, the brother and three sisters, Mrs. Eva E. Silvernail of Matherton, Mrs. Laura Lorentz of Afton, Mrs. Sarah Dick of Lake Odessa. She also leaves _1 grandchildren. Funeral services were held on Monday, June 3 at 2 o'clock at the Matherton Methodist church. Rev. Park Newcombe officiated and burial was made in the East Plains cemetery. Funeral arrangements were in charge of Burns Funeral Home."
