Lake Odessa Wave-Times - March 15, 1928

CAMPBEL TOWNSHIP PIONEER PASSES

Mrs.Lawrence Simkins, an aged 91 pioneer settler of Campbell township since the 
early days of Civil War, died at her farm home on Clinton Trail after 64 year of 
residence there. Five of her seven living children who are left to mourn her 
departure were at her bedside when death claimed their mother Saturday evening, 
March 3rd. 1928.

Mrs. Simkins will be remembered by her friends and neighbors ass a kind and 
gentle woman, whose life was full of the finer things that make a worthy 
character.

Funeral services were held at the home Tuesday, March 6 at ten o'clock, Rev. 
William officiating. Burial in Clarksville cemetery.
