Ionia Daily Sentinel-Standard
Mary Irene Simmon, 69, of 410 Harter, died unexpectedly July 5 at Ionia County 
Memorial hospital.  Born in Bloomer township of Montcalm county June 26, 1904, 
she was a daughter of Mr and Mrs John Navin and married Harry A. Simmon, in 
Carson City in October 1932.  She was a member of SS Peter and Paul Catholic 
church in Ionia, a member of the Altar Society, and had been employed at 
McClelland’s store in Ionia for a number of years.  She lived in Ionia most of 
her married life.

Surviving besides her husband are two sons Richard and Thomas both of Grand 
Rapids; one sister, Mrs. Martha Dailey of Hubbardston, and five grandchildren.  
Rosary will be recited at 8:30 pm Friday at Myers Roetman funeral home with a 
funeral mass recited at 10 am July 6 at the Catholic church.  Burial will be in 
Mount Olivet cemetery.
