Ionia County News, 15 Jan 1942

Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at 2:30 for Maude V. Simmons who 
passed away early Thursday morning.  Miss Simmons made her home with her 
brother, Ray, the past year and one-half, coming here from Grand Rapids.  She 
had been critically ill for about six weeks.

She was born in Kent County December 21, 1885.  Survivors are her mother, Mrs. 
Esther Simmons, and two brothers, Ray and Dewey of Saranac, three sisters, Mrs. 
Grant Ellison of Saranac, Mrs. Elmer Gunderman of Lake Odessa, and Mrs. Ida 
Demond of Lakeview and Rev. Earl Champlin of the Saranac Methodist church 
conducted the service.  Burial was in Cascade cemetery.
