Ionia County News, 30 Oct 1958

Mrs. Katherine Simmons, 82, of 251 Lafayette Street, Ionia, died Monday, October
20, at her home.  She had been ill for quite some time.

Born August 25, 1876 in Easton township, she was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs.
Joseph Hosberg.  She was married to Fred Wright, who preceded her in death in
1943.  Later she married Lyman Simmons, who died in February, 1958.

Mrs. Simmons was a member of the First Christian Church, Mrs. Preston’s Sunday
School class and former president of the WCTU.

Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Dale Hummel of Ionia;  one granddaughter, Mrs.
Otto (Louise Maxine) Peebles of Grand Rapids; and three nephews and one niece.

Funeral service was held Thursday, October 23, at 3:00 p.m., at the First
Christian Church.  Interment was in Tuttle Cemetery.  Arrangements were made by
the Stone-Kauffman Funeral Home.
