Shirley Elethea Baker Simmons, 83, passed away at her home in Lakewood, 
California on Wednesday, July 23, 2003 or renal failure.  She was born April 
17, 1920 in Orange Township of Ionia County.  She was preceded in death by her 
husband Frederick Lawrence and son Robert.

Shirley is survived by sons Lawrence, Gary, Woodrow, William and Frank; 
daughters Gay Worden, Donna Castellanos, Mary Ann, Janet Griffith, Margaret 
Thurman, grandchildren Benjamin, Daniel, Emily, Diana, Jacob, Eric, Garrett, 
Jan and Ryan and great-grandchildren Ethan, Jaiden and Racquel.  

Private services will be held at Cypress Forest Lawn at 1 p.m. Monday, July 
28, 2003.
