SUDDEN DEATH FRIDAY OF WM. H. SIMMONS
Everyone was surprised to learn of the death of Wm. Simmons last week Friday.We 
are told he went to do his chores and never returned to the house, being found 
dead on the ground.

Mr. Simmons was a well known person in this village always transacting his 
business himself when able. He was of a kind disposition and respected by all 
who knew him.

He leaves two sons besides his widow.
                                OBITUARY
Wm.H. Simmons was born in Berlin Township on October 23, 1856.

On Oct. 14, 1889 he was married to Mary K. Lovell. To this union were born seven 
children, two of whom with the wife, survive him. Mr.Simmons has been in ill 
health for a number of years, and was momentarily in uncertainty as to the time 
of his departure, owing to the nature of his ailment, and which resulted in 
death March 2,1923.

Mr.Simmons was unpretentious in life and manner and lived a Christian life which 
was the source of great satisfaction to him, as it is all who fully trust the 
Christ.

He was a member of the South Berlin M.E.church.

He is survived by one brother, Jesse and a large number of friends.

The funeral was held from the residence, conducted by the pastor, Rev. R.E. 
Showerman, of Lake Odessa, on Monday March 5, 1923.
Interment was in Lakeside Cemetery.

assistance during the death of our husband and father, also for the beautiful 
floral offerings, Rev. Showerman for his comforting words, also the singers.
