She was born in Erie county, Pa., May 6, 1877, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. C.D. Bovee. She came to Michigan when she was three years old to live with her uncle and aunt, Mr. and Mrs. J. Ames. On June 11, 1902, she was married to Lyman J. Simmons. She was a life-long member of the East Berlin Wesleyan Methodist church. For years she held the office of either secretary or treasurer of the Balcom cemetery association. She is survived by her husband, three brothers, Glen and Fred of Erie, Pa., and Lyman of New York City; three sisters, Mrs. Harriet Parker, Mrs. Aris Eagen and Mrs. Ida Seib, all of Erie County, Pa.; two sisters-in-law, Mrs. Nettie Simmons and Miss Lena Simmons, and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Friday at 1:30 p.m. at the home for the family and at 2 p.m. at the LeValley church with Rev. Kenneth Griswold officiating.
