LYMAN): GRAND RAPIDS PRESS, MI, 2-9-1939: "Obituary - Mrs. Nellie Simmons, wife of Lyman, died at her home in Orange township Wednesday. The funeral will be Friday at LeValley Church. Mrs. Simmons was secretary and treasurer of Balcom cemetery association for years. Survivors include her husband, three brothers: Glenn, Fred Bovee of Erie, Pa., Lyman Bovee of New York City, three sisters: Mrs. Harriet Parker, Mrs. Aris Eagen and Mrs. Ida Seib of Erie County, Pa." Unnamed and undated newspaper obituary and funeral report: "MRS. LYMAN SIMMONS - Mrs. Nellie Simmons, 61, wife of Lyman Simmons, died Wednesday at 5:45 a.m. February 8, at her farm home in Orange township where she lived for the past 36 years. She was born in Erie county, PA., May 6, 1877, the daughter of Mr and Mrs C. D. Bovee. She came to Michigan when she was three years old to live with her uncle and aunt, Mr and Mrs J. Ames. On June 11, 1902, she was married to Lyman J. Simmons. She was a life-long member of the East Berlin Wesleyan Methodist church. For years she held the office of either secretary or treasurer of the Balcom cemetery association. She is survived by her husband, three brothers, Glen and Fred of Erie, Pa., and Lyman of New York City; three sisters, Mrs. Harriet Parker, Mrs Aris Eagen and Mrs Ida Seib, all of Erie County, Pa., two sister-in-law, Mrs Nettie Simmons and Miss Lena Simmons, and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Friday at 1:30 p.m. at the home for the family and at 2 p.m. at the LeValley church with Rev. Kenneth Griswold officiating. MRS. LYMAN SIMMONS - Funeral services were conducted Friday afternoon, February 10, for Mrs Lyman Simmons, 61, from the home in Orange township at 1:30 o'clock and from the LeValley church at 2 o'clock. The Rev. Kenneth Griswold officiated. Mrs Simmons died at her home Wednesday morning, February 8, at her home. Pallbearers were Harold Simmons, Alden Simmons, Seigel Bennett, Willard McDonald, Norman Galloway and Jay Harwood. Mrs Morris Benedict and Mrs Arthur Rumbaugh had charge of flowers and Mrs Roy Hinds was in charge of the music. Among those attending from away were Mr and Mrs Glen Bovee, of Swansville, Pa., Mrs Harriett Parker of North Springfield, Pa., Mr and Mrs Roy Sims of Lansing, Mrs Amelia Simmons, Mr and Mrs Adelbert Simmons and Mr and Mrs Guy Snyder of Heridan, Mr and Mrs Fed Klotz of Portland, Mr and Mrs Ben Hazzard of lake Odessa and Miss Mildred Dunning of Mt.
