SIMMONS, BESSIE (COURSER):
Per THE IONIA SENTINEL, Monday, October 22, 1883:  "LOCAL BREVITIES.  Mrs. Betsy
Courser, mother of Mrs. Abel Simmons, died at the home of her son-in-law in the
township of Berlin on Saturday.  She was 81 years old.  The funeral took place
on Sunday at the Shilton school house.  The services were conducted by Rev. Mr.
Backus."
