The Ionia County News, Thursday, January 8, 1959
Mrs. Esther Simmons, 94, died Tuesday, December 30 at the Burns Rest Home in 
Ionia.  She was born March 28, 1864 in Bloomer Township, Montcalm County.  

Surviving are one son, Dewey; two daughters, Mrs. Grant Ellison of Greenville 
and Mrs. Emma Gunderman of Lake Odessa; 14 grandchildren and 20 great-
grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Thursday, January 1 at the Morris Funeral Home in 
Saranac with the Rev. Howard E. Bull officiating.  Interment was in the 
mausoleum at Saranac.
