Simmons, 56, died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Evelyn L. Parker, 323 Harter Street, Saturday night at 7 o’clock. Funeral services will be held there Tuesday afternoon at 2 o’clock with Rev. W. F. Kendrick. Burial will be in Sheridan cemetery. Mr. Simmons was born in Oakfield Center, Kent county, but had spent the greater part of his life in Montcalm and Ionia counties, where he engaged in farming. He came from the farm south of Sheridan to one in Easton, north of the Grove school, where he had resided 20 years. For two years he had been in poor health and last fall had an auction and came to Ionia to live with his daughter. Surviving is the widow; three children, Mrs. Lucille Montgomery, Mrs. Parker, and Lyle Simmons, of Ionia; four sisters, Mrs. Hattie Sutton of Kalamazoo; Mrs. Jennie Plank of Detroit; Mrs. Mary Whipple of Orleans, and Mrs. Emma Sherwood of Alhambra, California.
