Edward A. Simon, 77, of Lyons, passed away at his home Thursday, Aug. 29, 
2002.  He was born on Aug. 16, 1925 in Lyons Township, the son of Michael and 
Mayme (Koelzer) Simon.  He married Anamae Pease June 1, 1974.  He was a member 
of LeValley United Methodist Church in Ionia.  He loved to hunt and being in 
the outdoors.

He is survived by his loving wife, Anamae Simon of Lyons; children, Gerry (Pam) 
Simon of Lyons, Peggy (George) Gomez of Lyons, Daniel (Carol) Simon of Lyons, 
Larry Simon of Muir and Garry Simon of Lyons; and many grandchildren and great-
grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; step-daughter, Susie Moriarty; three 
brothers and three sisters.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday at LeValley United Methodist 
Church in Ionia with Rev. David Flagel officiating.  Interment Balcom 
Cemetery.  The family will receive friends and family from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 
7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., Monday at Lake Funeral Home in Ionia.  Anyone wishing may 
make a memorial contribution to LeValley Methodist Church.
