(Gibbs) (Coffman) Simon, age 93, passed away on Wednesday, September 14, 2005. She was born on June 25, 1912 in Scranton, Pennsylvania the daughter of Carl and Maria (Albrecht) Sontag. Mrs. Simon was a member of St. Patricks Catholic Church in Portland, and she loved ceramics, flower gardening and birds. Marjorie was a secretary for the majority of her working life at Diamond REO Trucks and Tri County Community Mental Health, and was also a wonderful homemaker. She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Francis Raymond Gibbs, Vearly Coffman and Clarence Simon; 2 brothers, Carl and Ralph Sontag; sister, Dorothy Durham. Surviving are 2 daughters, Judith (Glenn) Weaver of Julesburg, CO and Nancy (Thomas) Thelen of Lyons, MI; 6 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; sister, Anna May Jones of Florida. The Mass of Christian Burial was held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, September 16, 2005 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Portland with the Rev. Larry King, Pastor presiding. Rite of Committal followed at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Lansing. Arrangements were entrusted to the Schrauben-Lehman Funeral Home, Portland.
