Virginia A. Simon, 69, of Phoenix, Ariz., formerly of Lansing, died on Saturday
in Scottsdale, Ariz.  She was born the daughter of August J. and Caroline
Weiland Simon.  She was a member of the St. Mary’s Basilica and a retired
bookkeeper for Valley National Bank, both in Phoenix.

She is survived by two brothers; Arnold of Mitchell, Ind., and Harold of
Spokane, Wash.; two sisters; Mary Peake of Portland and Sister Ann Rosaire of
Mt. St. Joseph, Ohio.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church,
Portland, with the Rev. Mark Przybysz officiating.  Burial will be in Deepdale
Memorial Park, Lansing.  The family will be at the Gorsline-Runciman Neller
Chapel, Portland, from 7-9 p.m. Tuesday and from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m.
Wednesday.  The Rosary will be recited at 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Neller chapel,
Portland.
