Ionia Daily Sentinel Standard, page 3, 2 Feb 1937

Funeral services will be held at St. Patrick’s church, Portland, Wednesday
morning at 9 o’clock for Arthur P. Simon, 46, Portland farmer who died at
University hospital, Ann Arbor Saturday.  He had been taken there for medical
treatment.  Mrs. Simon recently underwent an operation there and had returned
home a week ago.  Mr. Simon was taken ill while his wife was at Ann Arbor.

Surviving are the widow and five sons, Leon, Elmer, Melvin, Paul and Francis,
the oldest 17.  There are also eight brothers and one sister.

[Transcriber's Note:  There is a notation on the obituary card that he was
buried in Portland Cemetery.]
