Simon "Mike", age 80 of Lyons, passed away on Saturday June 1, 2024, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on January 21, 1944 in Lyons Township, the son of Clarence and Elda (Miller) Simon. Mike grew up on their family farm and farming continued to be a huge part of his life. He married his high school sweetheart,Linda (McCrumb) on October 1, 1966, and we know he is overjoyed to be reunited with her.He served in the National Guard and retired from General Motors after several year of service. Mike was a big fan of car races, especially at 1-96 speedway, hunting, gardening and spending time with his family. Preceding Mike in death are hi wife of 45 years, Linda; his parents, Clarence and Elda; brothers David and James.Surviving are his children; Glenn(Cathy) Simon, Rhonda Rooks, Kristen (Marti) Schrauben and Melinda (Dan) Graham; grandchildren, Armanda (Matt) Stambauh, Holly (Skyler) Wilmarth, Michael (Katelyn) Simon, Rhet (Emma) Schrauben, Alaina (John Schneider)Schrauben, Grace (Benjamin Kenning)Simon, Emily Simon, Macey Schrauben, Nicholas Rooks, Lilly Roods, Faith Rooks, Lola Graham, Daniel Graham, Cora Graham and Michael Bo Graham; great-grandchildren, Myla Dalman, Lilah Wilmarth and one on the way, Easton Schrauben; siblings, Rosemary Spitzley and Thomas (Germaine)Simon; brother-in-law Roy McCrumb; sister-in-law Janice Simon. The Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at 1:00PM on Thursday, June 6th at St.Patrick Church in Portland.Rite of committal followed at Portland Cemetery. The family received friends from 2-4 and 6-8 pm on Wednesday,June 5th at Lake Funeral Home in Ionia and 1 hour before the service at St.Patrick Church in Portland.
