Excerpts from Ionia Obituary

BRIAN EDWARD SIMON

Died October 23, 2024-age 69 of Ionia-Husband, Father, Brother & "PaPa".
Born December 14, 1954, in Lyons, MI.,son of Martin & Helen (Miller) Simon.
Brian was one of fourteen siblings, all born at home.
A graduated of Ionia High School class of 1975.
Married Sue Martin on July 13, 1974 & recently celebrated 50th wedding 
anniversary.
Brian was a Jack of all trades. was employed over the years at Specialty Block 
in Ionia, Hall's Soft Water, Culligan's & then moved on to create
his own water filtration company, Specialty Soft Water of Ionia.
Brian loved the outdoors & could be found working on equipment that interested 
him, such as farm equipment.
He was a 4-H Leader & enjoyed going to Exploration Days at Michigan State 
University for several years. 
He attended township meetings nearly every meeting in their forty plus years
living in the area.
Survived by his wife, Sue; his children, Darce Simon, Steven(Kim) Simon & Blake 
(Kristen)Simon; grandchildren,Kole Simon, Trayvin Simon & Brooke Simon; 
siblings, Gail Ledbetter,,Dennis (Jane) Simon, Valery (Jeff) Wymer, Daryl 
(Diane) Simon, Rene(Ronda)Simon, Gwen (Gene) Wentworth, Roxanne(Scott) Dawson, 
Kurt Simon, Kevin (Linda) Simon, Kieran(Elle)Simon, Yvette Simon, & a sister-in-
law, Donna Simon; many nieces & Nephews & loved dogs, King & Annie.
Preceded in death by his parents, brothers Keith & Terrence & nephew, Chris 
Smith.
