Mrs. Robert Ackerson, following an illness of eight years. Funeral services will be held at the home Sunday afternoon at 2 o’clock. Burial will be made in Portland cemetery. Mr. Simons was born in Pennsylvania and came to this vicinity when 13 years of age, residing here since. At one time he conducted a restaurant on Kent Street. Surviving are three daughters and four sons. They are Mrs. Robert Ackerson, Portland; Mrs. Fannie Synder, Syracuse, N.Y.; Mrs. Glenn Knapp, Mt. Pleasant; Lee and Claud, Lansing; Frank, Kalamazoo, and Bert, Grand Ledge. One brother and three sisters also survive him, Sherd Simons of Grand Ledge, Mich.; Mrs. Lizzie Hamilton, of Kingsley, Michigan; Mrs. Margaret Church, Sumner, and Mrs. Elsie Whitney, Lowell, there are 11 grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
