The Ionia Sentinel-Standard, Monday, July 19, 1954


Mrs. Bertha Simons, 51, 236 Yeomans street, died Sunday morning at 9:30 at the 
Ionia County Memorial Hospital.  She had been ill for about two years.

Her husband, Herbert, died May 29, 1953.  She was born in Ionia April 23, 
1903, and was a member of SS Peter and Paul church and of the Rosary society.  

Mrs. Simons is survived by one son, Richard, of Ionia, one daughter, Mrs. Jack 
Roberts of Vermontville, one grandson, one brother, Glen Tanner of Lewiston, 
two sisters, Mrs. Bert Organ of Lewiston and Mrs. Clifford Kidder of Allegan.

The body is at Myers funeral home where rosary will be recited Tuesday evening 
at 8 o’clock.  Requiem High Mass will be sung Wednesday morning at 9 o’clock 
at SS Peter and Paul church and interment will be at Mt. Olivet cemetery.
