Ionia Daily Sentinel-Standard - Mon. Jan. 26, 1931

Dr. T.W. Simpson, 50, a dentist of Saranac, died at the home of Mrs. Fred 
Locke, of Perry, at 12:30 Sunday morning where he had been since one week ago 
Saturday seriously sick with a sinus infection. Dr. Simpson submitted to an 
operation for the relief of the malady five years ago and since that time has 
been taking treatments in Lansing and Ann Arbor hospitals. He had been able to 
look after his office work only a part of the time during the past few months.

He was born in Canada but had lived since a boy in Michigan. He graduated from 
the Detroit school of Medicine in 1901 and following his graduation practiced 
dentistry  in Clarksville. He moved from Clarksville to Saranac and had lived 
there ever since.

The widow and a son, Wilbur T. Simpson of Birmingham, survive.

Many friends of the late Dr. T.W. Simpson gathered with the relatives at the 
home in Saranac Wednesday for the funeral services conducted by the Rev. R.E. 
Karban, pastor of the First Presbyterian church, of Ionia. Dr. Simpson died in 
Perry, Sunday morning at the home of Mrs. Fred Locke, his sister-in-law, where 
he had been several days seriously sick with sinus infection.

A rich beauty lay in flowers placed about the casket by Mrs. C.H. Deyman and 
Mrs. James Elliot, tokens of the friendships made while in professional service 
for the community.

G.H. Deyman, Guy Myers, Leon Haskins, Ed Good, Gleason Gamsby and Harry Dodds 
served as bearers. Interment took place in the Saranac cemetery.
