Oliver Simpson, 87, died at his farm home in Keene township Thursday afternoon.
 Born in Bowne township, Kent county, on February 19, 1865, Simpson had lived
near Saranac for the last 34 years.  He had been a farmer all his life, and
bought the farm in Keene township after operating one on M-21 near Lowell
previously.

He is survived by his wife, Clara, and one son, Harold, who operates the farm. 
Three grandchildren, Miss Peggy Simpson, a nurse in Hollywood, Calif., Daryl at
home, and Jack Matthews of Lowell also survive.  One brother, Martin, lives in
Lowell.

The body will repose at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Harold Simpson until Monday. 
Funeral services will be held from the Morris funeral home Monday at 2:30 p.m.
with the Rev. Glenn McCarty officiating.  Interment will be in Lowell cemetery.
