DORIS SIMPSON, 92
Doris May Simpson, 92 of Ionia, passed away January 6, 2018.

She was born dec.9, 1925, in Detroit, the daughter of Edward and Erna (Troeder)
Monberg. Doris married William SImpson May 27, 1950. She was an active member of First
Methodist Church in Ionia and a past member of Ionia Moose Lodge and Eastern Star Ionia Lodge.

Doris was a secretary with UMW for many years. She also owned and operated Vincent 
Greenhouse in Ionia with her husband since 1956. She loved to bowl and travel.

Surviving are her children, William (Eva) Simpson of Hudsonville, David (Janice)
Simpson of Owosso, Patricia (Douglas) Gokee-Simpson of Petoskey, Thomas (Brenda) Simpson of 
Ionia; 10 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; brother, Roy Monberg of Dearborn
and sister, Norma Bavier of Dearborn.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband William and brother Bob Monberg.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, Jan 11, at 11 a.m. at First methodist
Church in Ionia. Interment Hillcrest Cemetery in Jackson on Friday at 1 p.m. Visitation will
be Wednesday from 4-7 p.m. at Lake Funeral Home in Ionia and Thursday one hour prior to
service at the church. Those wishing may make memorial contributions at First
