The Ionia Sentinel-Standard, Wednesday, April 15, 1936
John E. Simpson, 72, of Hopkins township, Kent County, will be buried Thursday 
at Saranac after services in the Saranac M. E. church.  He died Monday evening 
at his home.  Surviving him are his widow, three daughters, Mrs. Mable 
Rockwell of Hopkins; Mrs. Donna Brook, of Lake Odessa and Mrs. Maude Atkinson, 
of Saranac; one son, Clyde of the United States army; five brothers, Isaac, of 
Ann Arbor; William, of Elgin; Oliver of Saranac, Martin of Lowell, and Fred of 
Lansing, and six grandchildren.
