Dec. 3, 2016 BRIAN SCOTT SIPPERLEY Sunfield, MI - Brian Scott Sipperley, age 59, of Sunfield passed away unexpectedly at his home on Dec. 1, 2016. Brian was born in Dec. 7, 1962 to his parents, Nowell and Beulah Sipperley, of Lansing. He grew up in Lansing with his parents and three sisters and spent many weekends in Sunfield with his grandparents, Philip and Catherine Sipperley. Brian married Kathy (Sweet) Sipperley on December 14, 1990. They met each other on a blind date and were married eight months later. He became an instant father to kathy's two children, Casey and Kelli Aten, and about a year later they added to their family when their daughter, AnnMarie was born. Brian had many fond memories of spending time in Sunfield when he a a children, so when they decided to buy a home for their family they chose to move to Sunfield. Brian was employed by the city of Lansing at the Wastewater Treatment Plant, where he worked his way up to a supervisory position. He retired in January of 2014 after 31 years of service. Brian enjoyed motorcycles, hunting, fishing, and camping and he was an avid supporter of the NRA. During the spring and summer of 2016, Brian and Kathy went camping 20 weekends, visiting various campgrounds around the state of Michian. After his retirement, Brian picked up a few new hobbies, which included making homemade bread, homemade sauerkraut and the best apple pie in the world! Brian was preceded in death by his parents, Nowell and Beulah Sipperley. He is survived by his loving wife of 26 years, Kathy; his three children, Casey (Rachel) Aten, Kelli (Jon) Witham and Ann Marie Sipperey and his very special "soon-to-be son-in-law" Cody Harshman. Brian and Kathy haven nine grandchildren. He is also survived by his sisters, Brenda (Rick) White, Kathy (Rob) Nortman and Stacey Crampton and many wonderful nieces and nephews. A funeral mass was held at St. Edwards Catholic church in Lake Odessa on Friday, Dec. 9, 2016 Donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
