DONAL LLOYD SKELDING 1935-2016
Donald Lloyd Skelding, age 80, of Grandville Passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday 
April 12, 2016 at his home Donald was born in Flint, Michigan on May 4, 1935, 
the son of William Skelding and Clara Bixby, who preceded him in death.

He graduated from Ionia High School and attended Michigan State University. 
Donald worked in banking, finance and insurance for most of his working life. He 
was an enthusiastic baseball lover, he not only played baseball in high school 
but was also a member of a few organizations farm teams. He was a dedicated 
Detroit tigers and West Michigan White Caps fan.

Don also enjoyed many days boating on lake Michigan and Spring Lake. He was a 
generous, kind and fun loving man who will be greatly missed by his family and 
many friends.

Surviving is his special friend of over 30 years, Lilyn Fountain of Wyoming. 
Also surviving are his five children, Debra Skelding of Oak Creek, Wisconsin, 
Cathy Fagan of Hickory, North Carolina, Robert Skelding of Lake View, Oregon, 
Sue Skelding of Lowell, Michigan, and Jim Skelding of Austin, Texas; eight 
grandchildren, six great-grandchildren; his brother, Darrell Sheffer; and many 
other relatives.

Funeral and visitation were held at the Metcalf & Johkhoff Chapel. In keeping 
with his wishes cremation has taken place. The family is being served by Metcalf 
& Jonkhoff Funeral Service, 4291 Cascade road S.E.at Kenmoor, Easy off 1-96.
