FORMER VILLAGE PRESIDENT DIES IN HASTINGS
Daniel D. Skellenger, 76, retired businessman, passed away Wednesday at Pennock 
hospital, Hastings, where he had been a patient for the past four weeks. His wife
Helen died about six years ago. He operated and owned a gas station after coming here from
Belding about twenty years ago.

He was a member of the Masonic lodge.

Surviving are a son George of Belding, two stepsons, Leo Elsbey of Kalamazoo and Don
Elsbey of Rockford, four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Friday morning at 10 a.m. at the Pickens chapel under
auspices of the Masonic lodge with burial in Lakeside cemetery. Rev. Hubert Ellis of Belding
officiated.
