February 10, 1944 MRS. SKELLENGER DIED WED. Mrs. Daniel D. Skellener, 77, who had suffered a stroke of paralysis several months ago, passed away suddenly Wednesday afternoon at her home here from a severe stroke after only about an hour and a half of suffering. Mr and mrs Skellenger came to Lake Odessa from Belding in 1925 and they have been prominent in local affairs ever since making Lake Odessa interests their interests. Mrs. Skellenger was an active member of the congregational Church, the Lake Odessa Woman's Club and the Order of Eastern Star, all of which she took a special interest in. Besides the husband, she leaves two sons, Leo H Elsbey at Kalamazoo and Don W. Elsbey at Rockford and a step-son George Skellener in Belding. There are four grandchildren. The funeral will be held from the Congregational Church Friday at 2. Interment will be made in Lakeside cemetery.
