M. Skinner, aged 11 years and 8 months. Frankie was first seized with that terrible disease, inflammatory rheumatism, and after weeks of suffering, he became better and hopes were entertained of his speedy recovery, but all was in vain. The disease assumed a new form – rheumatism of the heart – and, after intense suffering, he was relieved by the kind hand of death. He is represented as a good boy and always obedient to his parents. Just before death he talked much about the approaching change – said he saw the angels and his little sister that had died before. He said a little prayer and asked that his mother might accompany him over “the dark rolling river.” His funeral took place at the Christian Church on Monday afternoon.
