Belding Banner, 11 Jul 1895

Palo - Peter Slater, an old gentleman formerly a resident of this town but for
several years has lived in and near Stanton, was brought to his son’s, something
over a week ago, very low with chronic heart and kidney disease.  On Sunday he
was able to walk out and seemed quite comfortable.  In the evening he lay down
on his bed to rest, and in a few minutes had a stroke of paralysis, from which
time he sank rapidly and died soon after midnight.
