MRS. GARFIELD SLATER DIED MONDAY NIGHT

Mrs. Garfield Slater, 71, lifelong resident of Campbell twp. passed away at 
Pennock hospital, Monday night where she had been a patient a week following 
surgery.

Mrs. Slater, is the former Cassie Rensch, and she and Mr. Slater celebrated 
their golden wedding anniversary a year ago last March.

The couple have spent all their married life on the farm where they now live, 
12323 Nash rd., south of Clarksville.

Surviving are the husband, two daughters, Mrs. Lester Stuart and Mrs. Vere 
Howlett of Clarksville, a son, Elwyn at home; three sisters, Mrs. Elmer Scott, 
Clarksville, Mrs. Anna Coleman of Grand Rapids and Mrs. Alice Allerding of 
Hastings; 12 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. 

Funeral services will be held Thursday (today) at 2 at the Congregational church 
with burial in Clarksville cemetery.
