The Belding Banner, Thursday, November 9, 1911
Mrs. Wm. C. Slayton, aged 82 years, died Sunday at her home in Grattan.  She 
is survived by two sons, David E. Almy and Justin W. Slayton, both of Grattan, 
and two brothers, William Edie of Lockport, N.Y., and Dr. J. Orton Edie of 
Grand Rapids.

Funeral services were held from the home of her son, Austin, Wednesday 
afternoon.  A grand good woman is gone, she was the wife of the late Wm. C. 
Clayton.
