Burial was made at Danby cemetery. She was born in Portland in 1848, in a house which stood where the Portland Farm Bureau headquarters are located, on Maple street, died at Sebewa Corners early Tuesday morning, after a long illness. She was a daughter of the late Joseph Roe, of Portland, and her early life was spent in this vicinity. She was also the last of a family of six children, one of them having been Frank Roe, who died here a number of years ago. Her first marriage was to Isaac Bailey and three children were born to this union; all now deceased. Her second marriage was to Harvey Sleight. About 30 years ago the couple moved to Sebewa. By this union there is a son, William, who resided near his mother. There is a granddaughter, Miss Fern Steele, who went to reside with the Sleights when she was 10 years. She was sent to the Michigan School for the blind, graduating there. For a number of years she has had profitable employment at a Saginaw institution.
