Four months ago her brother, Leonard Goodrich, died at their late residence. Six weeks later Mr. Sloan departed this life, and now Mrs. Sloan goes, thus leaving their beautiful home which they erected for themselves, and occupied 33 years, desolate. She fell last December, by which she received an injury on the head, which soon showed that it affected her mental as well as her physical system, and for six months past had caused her great mental distress. Seven weeks she was confined to the bed and evidently a great sufferer. She passed peacefully away without a struggle. Louisa Goodrich was born June 13th, 1815, was married to Foreman Sloan July 15th, 1845; died Sept. 18th, 1887. Three sisters survive her, one of whom, Mrs. Harriet Read of Youngstown, Ohio, and her daughter Eva Read, had been with her nearly six weeks. She was a faithful wife, always bearing her share of the burdens of life, and by careful industry they accumulated a competence for all the needs of life and now surrender it to the care of those who inherit their fortune. The early pioneers of Ionia are being laid to their silent rest.
