B. Slocum of Hubbardston, with the Rev. C. T. Bull of Maple Rapids officiating. Interment was in the West Side cemetery. Bearers were six grandsons, Max, Gordon and Keith Clark, Virgil and Vern Slocum and Harley Middlebrook. Mr. Slocum died at the home of his son, Henry, at Hubbardston Tuesday, September 20, at the age of 87 years. He was instrumental in erecting the electric lights in 1904, that were used in connection with the flour mill at Hubbardston, which he purchased in 1898. He was married to Miss Laura Wood in 1872 who preceded him in death. Survivors are a son, Henry, and a daughter, Mrs. E. E. Clark. A granddaughter, Mrs. Velma Clark of Greenville also survives.
