Hasting's Reminder - Sat.September 20, 2025

NORMAN REX SLOCUM, age 91, of Lake Odessa,MI died at home September 17, 2025.

He was born February 11, 1934 to Norton & Lorna (Card) Slocum. Rex served as a 
United States Marine in Korea.He worked as a tree trimmer for the city of 
Charlotte and retired after 40 years from Fisher Body.

Rex enjoyed visiting family and friends-Denny, Ray, Frank andCharlie to name a 
few. He attended gun & knife shows, and was an avid Harley Davidson motorcycle 
rider & owner.

Rex was preceded in death by his parents & sisters, Ann (Slocum)Merrill & Leah 
(Slocum) Markhoff.

He is survived by daughters, Rose (Frank) Herthorn of SC, Michelle Slocum of 
Hasting's, Rachel Slocum of Lansing, Jennifer Bergan (Ken Sherrow) and Alisha 
Slocum, both of Lake Odessa; seven grandchildren; three great-grandsons.

Rex is a legend to many and will be missed by all who knew him.

A barbeque will be held at a later date.
