Slosson, 79, passed away early Monday at Pennock hospital where she was admitted Friday with a heart ailment. She had been ill about a year. A native of Howard City she was a resident here for 57 years and was the daughter of Morris E. and Sarah Kieth. Mrs. Slosson was employed as a typesetter at the Lake Odessa Wave when her husband Charles was the owner and also after his death in 1902. They purchased the newspaper from Mrs. Clyde Francis in 1898 and Al Weber came here from Nashville as a printer, and about three years later formed a partnership with Mr. Weber purchasing his partners interest after hi death. She also worked for the Dann Printing Company and Wave as a linotype operator about 40 year ago. She was a member of the Congregational Church, Womans Fellowship and was pianist for the Sunday school for a number of years. She was also a member of the WCTU and Marccabee lodge. Surviving are a son Ambrose of Liberty, Missouri, two foster sisters Mrs. Effie Duncan of Buffalo, New York and Mrs. Lena Oaster of Grand Rapids. Mrs. Slosson reposes at the Pickens Funeral Home where funeral services will be held Thursday (today) at 2:00 p.m. with burial in Lakeside cemetery. rev. A. J. Pitman will officiate.
